Manchester United planning to announce Alexis Sanchez signing from Arsenal TONIGHT | Football | Sport

Sanchez is on the verge of completing a stunning move to Manchester United, with the Chile international likely to be given the club’s famous No7 shirt.

The 29-year-old is set to leave Arsenal having refused to sign a new contract, with the Gunners set to land United forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the deal.

And the Manchester Evening News say the Red Devils want Sanchez’s deal finalised tonight so he can make his debut on Saturday.

Manchester United travel to Turf Moor aiming to put more pressure on Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

City’s shock 4-3 defeat to Liverpool last weekend has given Jose Mourinho’s side a small glimmer of hope of title glory.

And United want Sanchez to face Sean Dyche’s side to give them the best chance possible of picking up three points.

The MEN say the Red Devils want the 29-year-old to train tomorrow at the club’s Carrington training complex.

However, whether United can get the deal done to their liking remains to be seen.

Mourinho’s side have until noon tomorrow to register him if he is to make his debut at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Martin Keown has accused Sanchez of being ‘the biggest mercenary in football’.

“Sanchez has got to be the biggest mercenary in football,” he said.

“Manchester City have wanted to sign Sanchez since the summer and, if no deal is done in January, they will be waiting for him at the end of the season.

“City would be the natural place for Sanchez to go to develop his football. He has worked with Pep Guardiola before.

“But for Sanchez, this is clearly not about going to the best team, working with Guardiola and taking his game to another level.

“He has probably thought that he will not get a better offer if he waits until the summer, so he might as well take the best deal on offer now. It has been all about the money.”
