Sanchez, Express Sport understands, will complete a move to Manchester United in the next 48 hours.
The Chilean, who was left on the bench for the 2-1 defeat away to Bournemouth yesterday, is expected to earn around £350,000-a-week which will make him the Premier League’s highest-paid player.
Manchester City, who tried to sign Sanchez last summer, look set to miss out with Jose Mourinho poised to clinch a deal.
And Sky Sports pundit Carragher thinks there is only one factor as to why Sanchez will join United over City – money!
“The only reason I can see why he’s going to United is financial,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“It has to be. You’ve worked before with a manager where his side are better.
“People say ‘will he go straight into the United team with the front three they have’?.
“If he gets back to where he was three or four years ago, then for sure, as he’s let himself down at Arsenal the past three or four months, he may want to be financial, but it’s part of the game.”
Sanchez was not involved in the Gunners’ 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth yesterday.
