Liverpool transfer news: RB Leipzig say Naby Keita will not move during January window

Liverpool will not be allowed to bring forward Naby Keita’s move from RB Leipzig, according to the Bundesliga club.

Last summer, the Reds agreed a £48m deal for the 22-year-old midfielder to move to Merseyside at the end of the current season, but are said to be keen onThursday, reports from Germany emerged claiming Leipzig chiefs had softened their stance over the player’s departure, having initially ruled out any possibility of losing him earlier than originally planned.

However, coach Ralph Hasenhuettl denied this was the case.

“Nothing has changed and our position hasn’t changed from before regarding this transfer,” he said, adding there was no reason to sell Keita before the summer and that the player was keen to end the campaign in positive fashion.
