Keown made the comment following Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Southampton this evening.
The Red Devils have now drawn their last three in the Premier League and have dropped down to third following Chelsea’s 5-0 win over Stoke earlier today.
The title looks even further out of reach for United now, as they are 14 points behind Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
Arsenal legend Keown says there was a lack of fight from the United players today and is interested to see what Mourinho does next with his team.
“I can’t believe today the tepid performance,” Keown said.
“I expected much more from Manchester United today, at least to get three points in the bag.
“They’ve been professional until this point of the season and now the wheels are coming off, the top four is not a given for them, it’s going to be very difficult with City running away with it.
“But Manchester United today, Jose Mourinho, it will be very interesting to see where he goes now with this one.
“He seems to have lost the players today, I didn’t sense that fight from the players, it was too slow.
“There’s work to do with these players to get back on board with the players.
“There doesn’t seem to be the harmony here that I would have seen at the start of the season.”
