Jeep Wrangler 2018 has just been unveiled at the LA Auto Show and the car manufacturer has also unveiled that it will be manufacturing a plug-in hybrid version of the car in 2020.
This is one of the first hybrid vehicles that parent company Fiat Chrysler will manufacturer.
The other is a the Chrysler Pacifica which has a 16kWh battery and 84 mpg but it is unclear if the Jeep will get this hybrid setup or a completely new one.
These are currently the only things known about the electric variant.
The announcement of the production of the PHEV was made as the new Jeep Wrangler 2018 was revealed.
It retains the same overall iconic design of previous generations with a few modifications to freshen up the car’s look.
Inside the car has been refreshed with a new design and some more tech.
New generation infotainment systems are now offered with the new car.
These new, fourth-generation Uconnect systems include a full-colour LED instrument cluster, the choice of 5.0, 7.0- or 8.4-inch touchscreens with pinch-and-zoom capability, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features.
Powering the new Wrangelr is a choice of the all-new 2.0-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder and the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V-6 engines mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
