Kuyt excited for Anfield return

15:50: Liverpool favourite Dirk Kuyt can’t wait to step out in front of the Kop at Anfield once again when Liverpool Legends take on Bayern Munich Legends at Anfield in their second official match for the LFC Foundation.

Kuyt told the ECHO: “I’m been back just a few times since I left, just in the crowd, watched a couple of games but while I was still playing football it was difficult to come.

“I was here for Stevie’s testimonial with the All-Stars game and the Europa League game against the Spanish team (Villarreal).

“It was good to be back and hopefully now I’ve retired I can be here more and of course I’m looking forward to the game in March.”

Adam Lallana in squad

13:32: Adam Lallana is in the Liverpool squad to face Sevilla on Tuesday.

Lallana is yet to play for the Reds this season but could make an appearance in tomorrow night’s Group E game.

Danny Ings is also in the squad.

However, Joel Matip will not play after picking up a groin injury at the weekend.

David Brooks battle

08:38: Liverpool and Tottenham are battling it out to sign Sheffield United midfielder David Brooks.

Brooks, 20, could be on the move in January.

The Wales international is valued at £20million and is under contract at Bramall Lane until 2021.

Sturridge to quit Liverpool

06:00: Daniel Sturridge has reportedly decided he must leave Liverpool in the hope of salvaging a place in England’s squad for next year’s World Cup.

The 28-year-old has shrugged off his injury woes this season so far but he has struggled to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s first team plans.

Sturridge has started just four games this term and has been an unused substitute in Liverpool’s last two Premier League matches.

And he has reportedly decided the time is now to end his four and a half year stay on Merseyside.

That’s according to the Mirror, who claim the striker believes leaving Liverpool will help his chances of making Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup.

Silva courting Coutinho like Neymar

05:30: Thiago Silva has admitted he is in regular contact with Philippe Coutinho about recruiting him to Paris Saint-Germain.

Coutinho’s future remains up in the air after he made it clear by handing in a transfer request that he wanted to leave Liverpool.

But the La Liga giants are expected to try again in the New Year with PSG also rumoured to be interested in entering the race for his signature.

PSG are filled with Coutinho’s international team-mates in Dani Alves, Neymar, Lucas Moura, Marquinhos and Silva and the latter has revealed how he often speaks to the 25-year-old about joining him in the French capital.

“I talk a lot with Coutinho. I hope that at the end of the season or even before, it could be a nice surprise for us,” Silva told Telefoot.

“I hope he will think well and that next year he will work with us.”

Klopp makes stupendous Salah prediction

05:00: Jurgen Klopp has claimed Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is on course for an unprecedented amount of goals

Salah became the first Liverpool player in history to score nine league goals in his opening 12 games for the club after netting twice in the 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.

He could have already hit double digits if it wasn’t for his penalty miss against Huddersfield while also missing a number of guilt-edge chances.

But Klopp is remaining optimistic that the Egypt international can continue his rich vein of form in front of goal.

“If he continued at this rate he would finish the season on something like 70 goals, which isn’t really likely,” Klopp said.

“We have these moments. He could have scored the penalty (against Huddersfield) and he’s missed some big chances, but I realise it’s just a moment. I really understand.
