B&Q hopes for seasonal boost | City & Business | Finance

On Thursday the firm will publish its second-quarter trading update and Hargreaves Lansdown analyst Danny Cox said: “The worry leading in [to trading update] is that the seasonal boost at B&Q does not appear again and a slower housing market drags UK sales down.

“Analysts are expecting some improvements in France, although with like-for-like sales down 5.5 per cent in the first quarter, it seems unlikely that we’ll see it break back into growth this time.”

Cox added that investors will be hoping that chief executive Veronique Laury provides an update on the progress of Kingfisher’s £800million overhaul, which includes store closures, overhauling its IT and online operations and reducing its number of suppliers.
